HARC Client Survey

Illustrating Vital Services

Hey folks! I have another project case study to share with you. This time, it’s about my work with Hastings Advice and Representation Centre (HARC). They commissioned me to illustrate their Annual Review, a crucial tool for planning and improving their services.

HARC provide free and confidential Welfare Benefits advice, information and representation to the people of East Sussex and the South Coast of England we aim to address inequalities, relieve poverty and improve the quality of life for vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and families.

The Challenge

HARC needed to present a lot of complex and sensitive data in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. Their client survey revealed some sobering realities about the challenges people face in the benefits system today.

The Process

I carefully explored the data, crafting illustrations that thoughtfully conveyed the core of people's experiences with the benefit system. It was important to balance the gravity of the information with clear, accessible visuals.

The Outcome

The illustrated survey is now helping HARC better meet their clients' needs through advocacy with their key stakeholders through to awareness raising. It is also supporting HARC to communicate the impact of their work to funders and local and central government. I hope the report reaches the people who can make the most difference.
